      Im in the process of converting my Commerciale to 12 volts. I would like to go down the Dynamo route rather than alternator. I  have checked out with Chris the French 12volt  dynamos he has in the club spares but these do not fit. Im told that the Lucas dynamos fitted to Slough cars are also unsuitable.Anybody know of a 12 volt dynamo that can be fitted or adapted to the French Tractions?

        You could go the ‘Dynalite’ route http://www.powerlite-units.com/about-dynalites/ alternator that looks like a dynamo (other suppliers are available searching online)  or get your 6v dynamo rewound to 12v by Broadway Electrical, contact info in the ‘Services’ section.

            Robson and Francis is a company I used to rewind my Chrysler dynamo – they did a great job and I’d use them again. I know that John Gillard uses them too. They’re in Sarf London.

              Chris I just looked in the services directory and it appears that the list from the old web site has gone along with a lot of the useful contacts, unless it has been moved somewhere else that I can’t seem to find?

                    Regarding David’s question about the contact list – we do have a list of useful links under the Service tab. The old list had not been maintained for some time so we didn’t move it across to the new website. We can add new links to the list – please contact the web master – web@traction-owners.co.uk – with any new information. Of course the same thing will happen over time so it would be good to know if any of the links are no longer valid.

                    I will ask if we can retrieve the old list and post it somewhere.
