Re assembling the  front end . The engine is “out” and I am about to  reinsert the torsion rods . Silent blocks are new. The  suspension arms  have dropped to their lowest “relaxed”position and were installed  using the setup bar as per diagram in the manual

Do I need to  force  down the  suspension arms  any further before engaging the  torsion bar splines  ?– It would  appear to require  excessive  force  to  do this and I  don’t  want to  damage  all my  lovely new bits and my knuckles in the process

This may all be a bit late but no, you do not have to force anything. Importantly the t/bars are handed and should go back as they came out. Typically there is one dob of paint on one and two dobs of paint on the other.

In a perfect world you will have scales and you  make adjustments via the adjusters  where the t/bar is held underneath the fire wall to achieve equal weights on the scales. . In the absence of the appropriate scales, most people seem to measure the height of the wing  from the ground just above the vertical centre line of the wheels .
