      Hi Guys

Wasn’t sure which section to put this in, but it this seems to be bodywork related?

Just bought the car and the previous owner either owned waxoyl or was a major shareholder.

The problem is it was applied at least 10 years ago and has gone rock hard.

It is also up to 4mm thick in places and is everywhere yes including the engine block !!!

How to remove it ?  I dont  want to scrape it off (trying to keep the paint underneath)…..Ive been using Gunk as I have for many years

However Gunk seems to be struggling with this even when mixed 50/50 with thinners

Question for you guys…..anybody had similar problems and what did you use or has anybody any recommendations

      Cheers

      Ken

        Hi Ken

I would suggest warming it before using Gunk or white spirit. I have used a hot air gun (very carefully and not close up) or a hair dryer. Once warmed and softened it will stay that way for a while – hopefully long enough for you to ‘wash’ it off.

          Hi Paul

Thanks for that thought, will give it a try as soon as I get a chance.

          Will report back with results

          Cheers

          Ken
