    Hi Norman,

    I can’t find any Lucas reference for 15 tail lights after 1952 except for some confusing references to USA export models which seem to suggest that they may have put a flasher lamp in the 471 with a separate reflector.

    However, I think that the 471 brake/tail would have been the obvious fitting for the period. All the pictures of the period that I can find in “Le Grand Livre” and the “Gold Portfolio” have lights that look like the 471

    I opted for non-originality as I was not happy to rely on people noticing the semaphore indicator. I worry about the BMW overtaking just as I start to turn right. The originals had already been replaced with 1960’s VW units when I bought it. The previous owner either thought that the supplied units were too small or preferred the look of the VW ones.
