That sounds very “unusual”.  I am wondering if your car gas been the subject of some ingeniuous Aussie fettling to keep it running at a time when the correct spare parts were less easily sourced

I understand your car is RHD, is there not a rectangular aluminium chassis  plate stating “Citroen Cars Ltd” on the bulkhead?  Does it have the “Slough” style wooden dash?

Is it 12V and does it have a starter solenoid probably mounted on a bracket on the drivers side close to the battery?

K29a is simply a cable which, when pulled, operates a mechanical switch mounted on the starter motor.

Can you post pictures of the dash and starter motor as a guide, please?
