      Hopefully a quickie. Have lost my large socket so can anybody tell me the size of the engine sump drain plug. I am sure the lost socket was a 40mm or a 42mm.

        David,

        Sorry for delay but I thought I had better check before committing to paper.  Thank heavens I did because I am amazed to find it is actually 41mm.

        As you can see, it is a perfect fit in my pure hex socket.

          Hi

          Yes I could not recall  the  size hence my quoting 40 and 42mm thats why it is 41mm! I have got some largish sockets but not a 41mm. Anyway have replaced it with a magnetic one from the club and that has a 21mm head like the gearbox. Cheaper in the long run than buying a 41mm socket.
