Attached is photo of my nearside rear trafficator. Now as you can see there is a hole in the metal framework. Not until a few hours ago did I know a festoon lamp lived in there being company for the normal trafficator lamp. Only reason I now know is was there was as I was turning out the garage lights this festoon was illuminated, only nearside not offside. Only way to extinguish it was to disconnect the battery.  Looking further I found that both indicator frameworks have two white plastic discs in them, one on eitherside. The nearside rear one has disintegrated maybe due to heat from the lamp. Can somebody tell me what this festoon lamp is supposed to do?

Hi David, My car has the same thing. The plastic lenses are missing. My understanding is there should be a red on a the rear side and a white one on the front. See this picture from Depanoto – https://www.depanoto-boutique.com/optiques-clignotants-lanternes-citroen-traction-c102x4057069

These are parking lights. There should be a switch for it somewhere. My car has 4 mystery switches on the dash of which I think 2 were for these lights – one for each side. As well as there being no lenses, there are also no bulbs and no wires so it’s all guesswork.

Yes would make sense they are parking lights now you tell me there should be a white and red pair on each fitting. In fact I have just found the switch that controls them always wondered what that switch did. Mine are all white except the melted one, colour a mystery. Anyway have removed the lamps and will block the holes with blind grommets or something similar. Just seen the price of a pair of these on the link you gave me, my somebody is making a killing somewhere. Like your vehicle mine has the same lamps at the back. I only learned recently, from some french website, that the one under the registration plate should have a clear section at the top to supposedly illuminate the letters/numerals, yet to see one of those.

          Anyway thanks for the info.

          Regards

          Dave

Got some 12mm blank grommets off Ebay fit a treat. The original plastic bit were all ready to break up due to age.

I should probably fit grommets too.
