Hi could anybody help with a wiring diagram for the indicator switch on 54 model? The diagram in the files doesn’t seem to show the switch terminals. I am trying to carry out the led conversion but struggling to figure out what to wire it up to on the switch without a diagram. Somebody has previously added link wires between aome of the terminals so wondering if thats whats causing the issues? IMG_20230106_085059

          Paul,

That does not look like an original switch to me.  It looks much more complicated with so many terminals, and that may be why some have been bridged.

My experience is that there are usually only 3 terminals, marked + (power source), D (right indicator) and G (left indicator.  If there is a warning light there may be an additional earth contact.

If nobody else comes up with a definitive answer and there are no obvious clues to the functions of the terminals, I suggest you experiment with a meter across various combinations to determine which does what.  Bon courage.

            Just a thought …

If the terminals are simply numbered, they probably comply with DIN standard 72552.  If so, this may help …

                Paul,

I’ve just clicked on the link and it worked here.

I shall try to post an image of the relevant section.

                    Paul,

Having enhanced your first photo, I can see:

                    • Terminal at about 2 o’clock is marked “R” so is likely to be output to right indicator(s)
                    • Central terminal marked “K” is most likely to be power source

                    I therefore assume :

                    • Terminal at about 9 o’clock is likely to be output to left indicator(s) but any is ID hidden by the wire.
                    • Top terminal with green lead is probably an earth (perhaps necessary for an integral warning lamp).  No idea why there is the additional red lead – what is at the other end of that?

I suggest using a meter to check for permanent live in centre and permanent earth at 12 o’clock.  Then see if the other two positions respond as anticipated when the switch is operated.  You will almost certainly need the ignition switched on for these checks.

                      Thought no. 92b …

You might find the centre (K) is earth and the top (green lead) is power in and the latter has been tapped to feed something else.

I am guessing it is a French car, so any comparisons with my 1955 L15 would be irrelevant.

Does it have more than 3 positions or any push/pull switching? Could allow for 4 light flashing if it does.

I believe mine is an original french one. Can actually open it up and see the gubbins inside. Not hard to figure it out using a multimeter.
