      Hi, Did an oil change on my 1950 Slough L 15 1911 , did it with a warm engine. old oil ran out ok left it to drain for a couple of days,  1.2 Lt of oil came out , though this was a bit low ( last service by previous owner was in 2022)  put in new oil but  only 1.5Lt went in before it started to come out of the filler hole .  Car on level ground.  Could the gearbox fitted be one with less oil capacity ? . there’s  only one filler and one drain bolt that I could see . So should it definitely be 2Lt or are there gearboxes that take less?

        Accurate filling of the gearbox oil level ideally requires the vehicle to be perfectly level.

        In the Light 15 handbook, (copy available for download in the Members’ section of this forum), the gearbox capacity is stated as 2¼ pints.  That is 1.278 litres so I think your 1.2 litres is fine because it results in overflow from the filler hole.

        I dont think it will change noticeably but you could always check again after a drive.

          All revealed, my error , word blind read it as litres not pints .
