Reply To: Solex 35

Having stripped the carb I found that two fixing hole threads on the casting are stripped. The flange on the float cover case is bent and does not sit flat on the float casing. Does anyone have an old 35 FAIE with a serviceable float case cover for sale. Otherwise I will need to get  a serviceable carb.  It’s a Solex 35 FAIE, I had a look on line and could find no replacements.  The club spares show a Solex carb 34PBIC, I believe this will fit my manifold subject to a use a proper thick insulating spacer and gaskets underneath the 34 PBIC, I have the torpedo type air filter so would need to adapt the cast aluminium casing on this to fit on the carb. Has anyone done this carb change.
