Just received my Tax Disc Reminder from DVLA Citroen Historic Vehicle 1950 for 1st August. Which clearly shows “this vehicle needs an appropriate MOT test certificate”. I have tried re tax on line but the system doesn’t allow to proceed without MOT> Does anyone know the online route or must I do it at a post office using the declaration V112?

They haven’t updated the system so you have to go to a Post Office with a V112 🙂

All done thanks. Post office seemed to know. Seems strange going into a post office and paying nothing. They also check insurance with DVLA without a certificate.

Yes, I did ask and they said the DVLA still paid them a small fee for doing it so your getting something back from the Government!

              Beware,
Not all post offices have internet access and may require you to provide the documentation as they can’t access the DVLA Database and other ion-line information on Insurance and MoT – It happened to me in Hatfield last October – I had to go to Welwyn Garden City to find a post office that was “connected”!

I have 3 Tractions and all have been renewed since the change, some more than once. Have not filled in a V112 for any of them and all have been renewed online no problems.

Do they all have a current MOT though?

MOT exempt cars without a current MOT is where the issue lays with the online renewal system (or did) so maybe DVLA have finally sorted it?

                      UPDATE:

I received my Renewal letter today for the 1st October 2014 and the car is in the ‘Historic’ class and no longer requires an MOT

So, by simply using my 16 digit reference number on the reminder (V11) I was able to apply on line via the new service at http://www.gov.uk/vehicletax which with a couple of mouse clicks confirmed that my car is taxed for 12 months from 1st October 2014 and I no longer need to display a Tax Disc and that DVLA won’t be sending one out

‘Big Brother’ is now watching us all via ANPR 🙄
