As you may know Brussels wanted to ban chrome plating. However as expected this caused a lot of uproar.

There has apparently been a lot of activity in Brussels to allow for the acceptance of use of controlled substances, of which chromium trioxide is in the process of being included, in the context of what is known as ‘repair as produced’. This, it is hoped, would extend to rework as well as to spare parts. The position looks more hopeful.
