I’ve been looking to get the basic information on Traction wheels, e.g. bolt pattern, hub diameter, offset, bolts, etc., but haven’t found anything.

Also, if anyone has tips on getting these wheels balanced in North America I’d appreciate it.
      Thanks.

About the wheels themselves, I don’t know much outside of the wheels on my own cars. For balancing, take the car to a shop that can do it on the car. I recommend this for any car, not just a Traction. The thing to do after is, mark one lug nut and the surrounding area on the wheel so it goes back on right whenever you remove it. You won’t believe how smooth the ride will be.

I had measured mine for when I was looking to modify the rim to fit a standard 16″ tire. In fact no modifications are necessary and 16″ tires fit fine.

But here is the info off my standard wheel (they are not so old looking now 😀 )

And my local tire fitter did the balancing with no problem, I hadn’t assumed there would be. Unlike my 2CV which are impossible to balance here but which I found out since, not much point either 😆

            Thanks.

The shops here seem to have machines with spindles that go through the center bore, so they don’t like the cross piece for the hubcap. I’ve heard of places that balance the wheel on the car, but can’t find one in Vancouver.

I’m sure I’ll find something eventually, even if it’s just someone with an old bubble-type static balancer. One of my rear wheels hops impressively at the moment.

If you can get hold of an old hub, you can make a balancing adaptor out of it which will fit modern balancing machines 🙂

You bolt the wheel to the spare hud which is then mounted to the balancing machine.

Can’t give you detailed info as I haven’t got one, James Geddes has though.
