Oil pressure?

      Hi I’ve now rebuilt the engine on our ruby but the oil pressure is very high when the engine is running at about 3000 rpm it go’s of the guage when hot. at tick over it is running at 15psi the engine is a ID19

      I can’t find any reference to a pressure relief valve on the system.
      Any suggestions?

        The only relief valve is on the pump itself. Is the oil gushing out anywhere?

          Every thing looks fine. In the Worksop manuel it says the valve in the pump is a none return valve not a pressure relief.
          The pressuer is as stated at the given rpm but as soon as is reves past 2000 the pressure go’s off the dial.
          It could be a faulty guage I suppose?
