the 49 BL I just bought has the Zenith. I haven’t gotten it running yet but is there anything about them I should know? I could always install a Solex but I’d like to see how this one is.

        Hi Larry
Wondering if it is the same as the Zenith fitted to my 1955 Familiale?

That doesn’t look familiar, have to post a picture. I still haven’t started working on it yet as the Saab is in the garage for the next 2 weeks or so until I sort out the brakes. The Saab? Its brake parts are the same as an MG TD. Interesting.

I guess you have read this? Maybe it is the car you bought!

No, I haven’t seen it, thanks for that. Mine is identical except it’s red. In almost the exact same condition except there’s not one speck of rust. And I’m finding out that a fair number of people in Ontario knew about it but no one made a move on it. The guy who had it, his late father collected cars and the building was sold so the cars had to go. I didn’t see it, but there was a Porsche from the 50s that he said sold for almost a half-million euros to a guy in Germany. Sure wish I could have seen that one, maybe a James Dean type car?

Is my face red! I had another look at the crud crusted item. It’s a Solex! It has the fore-and-aft flange on the intake manifold. “I yam so embarrisk” as Popeye would say. 😳
