Hello, I have a 1951 Slough built Light 15, and the current rear lights are the standard Lucas L488 domed stop and tail unit.
Were these fitted originally (I also have the same as rear and front indicator lights), or is there a more standard fitment.
      Thanks in anticipation. Keith Merry

I would have thought the Lucas L471 or the Lucas L549 were more appropriate. My 1939 Light 12 has the former, my 1953 Light 15 the latter. I seem to remember there is a Lucas parts manual for 1950’s in the Tech section of the website. This should shed some light on it!

I have just checked the 1950 Lucas catalogue. It seems that the L 488 rear lights were correct for export vehicles…? For the home market the ST38C (pork-pie) seemed to be used. (As on my Avatar) The L471 rear lights were added later. I do have a pair with the Citroen chevrons moulded into them.
