Hi, my name is Baz. I live in Essex and have just bought a 1952 Normale. I collect it this Friday coming and am getting help with that from Paul. The car is in ok condition but as I expect to be playing with it many things will change over the winter.
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Traction Avant 😀
I love the intro…. it is like somebody confessing to an addiction 😆
“My name is Baz, I live in Essex and I am a Traction Owner……. “
Welcome Baz, they are quite good fun once the engine turns over….. it took me a year to hear mine run for the first time.

The medical term is citroenitis… chevron shaped markings eventually appear on the forehead!
….or does Chevronitis sound more appealing….
I have had the addiction since seeing these cars in the old Spitalfields market in London back in the early 80’s. I always intended buying one when I retired but life decided to throw a wobbly and I had a stroke a couple of months ago. I have made a great recovery and have realised life is not a book to turn the pages by and have gone ahead and jumped in. I am picking the car up this Friday coming and to say I am excited would be a understatement.
They were John Gillard’s cars that you saw.
I now have pictures and the car is home. It is pretty much rust free apart from the doors so it is mostly cosmetic work. Engine and gearbox are fine and suspension seems ok. Brakes need looking at but for a 63 year old car I am surprised how good it is. A big thanks to Paul De Felice who came with me to go over the car and help me get it home. Well it seems I cannot upload pictures!!!!!!!!!
Baz,
Try again, there is nothing restricting you from uploading pictures to the forum.
Be sure to select “upload attachment”
Then select “choose file” followed by “Add the file”
Then select “place inline” followed by “SUbmit”
and “hey presto, it works”!
I did that and it said download limit reached. Any ideas why?
just checked the Control Panel settings and the individual file size limit is 512kb. You may need to resize your images. .png tend to be large formats, .jpg only need to be ‘medium’ quality to display fine on screen.
Use an online image resizer to make them 800 px wide and they should be ok
Here is a free online image resize tool: http://www.picresize.com/ there are lots of others if you Google for them or if you have MS office you could use the inbuilt Image Manager
Still having this issue I think
“Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.”
Ian can you please try again, I have upped the overall board limit as a test measure (was 50mib now 70mib – something to check Mick?)
