Hi to everyone on the board. Been a budding Traction owner waiting in the wings for some time now. Am now in a position to do something about it.
In the past I have bought vehicles then joined the forum. This time I have my Mr Sensible hat on and thought prudent to join the forum and glean
as much info as possible before purchasing.

Dave,
I’m just in the process of scanning a “Buyers Guide” article and uploading to the “Members only” section of the Website.
I’ll post a reply to this thread you as soon as it’s published,,, probably this coming weekend…
Remember patience is important and don’t buy the first car that you see….
Hands firmly in pocket for the time being! 😀
Hi and welcome. I too am a new member but I never listened and bought the first car I saw. Well actually never saw until I collected it. By sheer luck I have got a car in a pretty good state of repair that really only needs cosmetic work. As many say try and buy a sound car as one requiring a lot of work costs.
Yes the heart can often rule the head.
As I am often in France I thought I would have a look at what is available over there. It would seem lots. Currently leboncoin has 58 listed and these are only the private sales. So plenty of prospective viewings.

Hi Bogart,
I too defied all advice, didn’t take an expert and bought the first car I saw. That was 18 years ago. I was a bit concerned that the car had to be bump started down the hill every day. I had heard this was unhelpful for gearbox life and queried it with the vendor. He reassured me it was fine. Six months later – bang! For the last 17 years I have had the satisfaction of driving the car with a gearbox I built from the best parts of two knackered ones. Morals – everything is fixable, and experts are more reliable than vendors. Otherwise very little has gone wrong. But when things have, parts are available. In fact parts are much easier to get now than they were 18 years ago. Like most monocoques, the big thing to look for is rust in the floor and sills, that’s where repairs cost serious time or money or both. Chris
