Today a friend of mine brought home a 1955 Light 15 in good shape. The sunroof won’t sit flush to the roof when it’s closed. What should be looked at? Does the headliner have to be removed? It is a typical Slough sliding metal panel with a Tee handle at the front. Any advice would be appreciated.

        Hi

Mine is out and at the painters so sorry cannot look at it, but there is a re-print of an article in Volume Seventeen Issue 6 which should help.
Its fairly crude and I would hope a simple issue, I would remove and have a look..

A Slough Sunshine Roof when opening should be lifted slightly at rear when opening, perhaps someone forced without lifting. More likely not engaged in closed position, should not slide when handle is in locked position.
          Hope this helps.

Thanks, it does. I will suggest it to my friend. I suppose the fabric must be removed to have a look at whatever linkage is there.

You have to remove the sunroof to remove the lining , you should be able to see if the mechanism works with out removing the lining.

There is an arm on each side at the rear.
