See, exactly what I was talking about when the discussion of getting a younger generation interested in Tractions.

There is enough Tractions out there to be able to do this – it is not like they are going extinct.

For the use this car is intended for it looks pretty tame to me.

More of this will keep the Tractions alive 🙂

I don’t hate this either aside from the seats and steering wheel. Agreed it’s a big asking price, and am I missing where there’s a listing of what’s been done to the car? It looks quite different between the various photos.

Steering wheel is a period ‘Quillery’ one, same as I have on my car 😮

I like this car. I love the steering wheel and may start looking for one. I liked the seats as it looks like they get you more room away from the steering wheel. I agree with Ian that although the cars are great the standard black with cream wheels does get a bit boring. This car is obviously loved and used for fun which is what it should all be about.

I like the ivory plastic switches on the dashboard. That obviously shows that some serious thought went into this car. I had one of those steering wheels on my 11B when I got it in the 80s but there wasn’t much left of it. I also like the twin SUs. There’s enough original ones out there so why not have fun with one and see what you can do with it? Besides, it may have been a hopeless looking wreck when it was acquired.

The Quillery wheel is slightly bigger than the one that came with the car so helps with parking manoeuvres, it’s just missing the inserts in the spokes but matches what I did to my car. The interior was totally shot but I managed to retain most of the original headlining………

On your car, Dave, that steering wheel looks at home. I mean, you even have a hood ornament! On my much plainer car it would look out of place.

Off topic, but is there a source for the turn signal indicator lever?

Mine is a Club indicator switch with no timer (tried 3 originals but could get none working) however the LED in the replacement isn’t bright enough so I fitted a separte warning light and a Motorcycle Flasher unit with inbuilt buzzer to remind me to switch them off!!

On My 49 BL the “egg timer” switch works fine, but I can’t seem to shut it off without turning on the opposite side signals so I just let it run and it will shut off on it’s own. A bit annoying but what can you do? The indicator bulb doesn’t work at all, not sure what do do about it. Kind of nervous about taking that mystery box apart. 😕

My switch and indicator lamp work fine, but I’m missing the actuating lever. Would prefer not to have to buy a whole switch just for that piece.
