Are these serviceable or do I just replace them? They feel very stiff and notchy.

The outers can be taken apart, cleaned and reassembled. Not hard to do. You can turn the pin in its seat to find a new wearing spot and all should be well. The inners can be done as well, turn the pin 90 degrees and reassemble.

I just dissembled mine and did exactly as said below. Turned the shaft around.

          Plenty of grease and tighten.

Thanks Ian. I thought I had read somewhere that they could be done. I think they may be the reason the steering was so heavy on our car. Had a day hitting the body prep today.

Being right at the front of the car all the suspension joints are exposed to water, road grime etc.

Not cheap, but I use Quicksilver 2-4-C https://www.quicksilver-products.com/en/products/marine/sterndrive/sterndrive-lubricant/marine-grease/ Marine Grade grease on my cars suspension, it has Teflon in it and is highly water resistant.

A tube in the grease gun has lasted 3 years so far so following a regular lubrication schedule has proved very cost effective.

Thanks Dave I saw elsewhere your love of this grease. I thought it was a good idea too. Never really looked at the front suspension and driveshafts up until now. I am amazed the driveshaft outer joints last any amount of time really. Open to the elements and road dirt. Going to leave them for now as they seem ok, will just clean and grease everywhere. As with all projects I have started far more than I intended and am now struggling to get the jobs completed for drive it day. I think I will miss that if I am honest. A mixture of work and family mean several weekends are gone. These pictures show current state of the body. My original plan was to do just the rain gutters and respray just the roof……………………
