There is a “123” electronic ignition system which replaces the complete distributor and is specifically set up for a Traction. It is available in 6 or 12 Volt versions.

I understand there were some initial teething problems but it has now been in production for some time and these have all been ironed out so I believe it to be very reliable. I am aware of a number of TOC members who have installed it and swear by it. As it is a simple swap it also allows the pessimist to carry the old unit in the boot “just in case”.
