    Mine actually has 2 springs end to end so that it pulls the throttle right off when my foot comes off the accelerator to get maximum engine braking…..

    Ian before adjusting anything, take off the air cleaner and take a look down the carb barrel as someone presses the accelerator just to check that the butterfly is not fully opening.

    If it is, the problem is elsewhere, i.e. ignition timing or fuel supply.
