David, thanks for the advice. Will get a notched fanbelt. Paradoxically, the belt came from the club spares. Perhaps they should know that there are better belts out there?

Your angle iron may be better than the bracket I have. If I bolt it straight down onto the gearbox, it will most likely bend! Meantime, I’ll look for some suitable spacers.

Waiting for the radiator to come back from Aaron Radiator Company. The cheeky devils tout themselves as the last word in classic radiator overhaul. Guess what? They simply ship the radiator out to a third party. Could be ‘Bob the Bodge’ for all I know! With hindsight, I could have got a new one from Franssen for less. Tuition fees!
