    Distributor only fits 1 way as the driving ‘dog’ is offset. If I remember correctly on a Perfo engine (standing on it’s sump aka the right way up) with a standard distributor or ‘powernition’ one, at TDC the rotor arm is on no 1 cylinder and points to the front of the engine at circa 20 to the hour (using a clock face as a guide), but when I fitted a 123 distributor TDC for no 1 was at circa 5-10 past the hour.

    Very confusing if your rebuilding an engine with alternate parts
