Whilst trying to help a friend find a CD of Traction photos through a sea of Chaos I was given some information that her husbands car had taken part in a rally/classic car tour call it what you will from Paris to Moscow.

Now it is believed that this occurred in or around 1986 but despite googling around a bit I cannot find anything so if anyone has any additional information please let me know.

Additionally can anyone recommend some places to buy traction parts from? I am after a rear silencer for a Traction Avant 11BL
      Many Thanks

the supplier Larry mentions is Jose Franssen – i have used them and they’re fine –

other suppliers i have also used satisfactorily are:
              Renel : http://www.renelauto.fr/
              CTA (NL) : http://www.ctaservice.nl/
              Depanoto: http://www.depanoto-boutique.com/

Chris T does a great job in the club spares shop with huge knowledge of what fits what and what the suppliers are like – the club spares list is here:
              http://traction-owners.co.uk/uploads/spares/pricelist.pdf

There’s a 15% discount off list for members who have paid the levy which lists the silencer as follows –

              “G 1 71111L 321121/B8114.x Exhaust silencer & tailpie £94.08 Mild steel. All 4cy models”

there is also CTA in Sweden: http://www.ctaservice.se/ who ihear good things about but have never used and one or two other suppliers.

Not sure about the Paris – Moscow thing – there is a group called Tractions San Frontieres who do ling distance rallies allover the world in Tractions and did a Paris Moscow rally – but I thought it was later than ’86. I’ll see what i can find.
