Big 6 Drive shaft nuts

Hi i have a pair of new old stock Drive shafts and they don’t have the split pin hole in them ?

are left hand nylon lock nuts available? 24mm 1.5 pich. i can get right hand ones.

I guess such nuts will be available but probably not cheap and will ideally require replacement every time they are removed.

I would rather put my faith in a castellated nut and split pin rather than a nylon insert any day.  Therefore, were I in your shoes, I would simply drill the necessary holes, either before fitting (using an old shaft as a pattern), or in situ once the nuts have been correctly tightened.

Hi Bernie,
I think you are right, it’s unusual they aren’t drilled the old ones actually have two holes they are on the car so i will have to try and drill a nice straight hole..
