Having decided to fit a temp guage and oil pressure gauge I thought the easiest method of accesssing the water would be to fit one of the aluminium thingies that you

fit into the water hose. I got one but the tap for the sensor to screw into is a 1/8NTP thread and the one on the gauge is a 5/8 UNF, slightly bigger!

There is enough metal on the thingy to drill and tap to 5/8 UNF just. As an alternative I could drill the water pump housing. Question is where is the best place, or worst place to

drill it.  The actual sensor bulb is quite large. Any suggestions ?

Attached is a photo of the thingy.
