Engine color

Hi I have a 1951 Slough built big 6 what color should the Engine be? The first photo is my car with the green head and gray/blue block then i find one all gray and one all green?

Mark,

It should be green and I think the colour in your original picture (green head only) is probably nearest to original.

When I rebuilt mine in 2017, I used “BMC Green” engine paint from a BMC  parts specialist.  It is not a perfect match but I consider it close enough to be acceptable

This is RAL6020 as sold by Jose Franssen, CTA etc. Also available from any automotive paint supplier and will be mixed for you in brush paint or aerosol. Happy painting.

Nice job, hope i can do mine the same justice, don’t know if i can get that here in Aust i can the two in it is pic off the shelf. What one do you think is closer?

Probably, just concerned about the (with silver fleck). Try it and see if you like it!

Well I’ve decided as I cant get the motor to turn over she needs to come out for a complete rebuild.
