I have been troubled by juddering brakes over the summer at low speeds, not a major problem as the car is still useable, but uncomfortable. It turns out that my drums are not circular so I need to source another pair of drums and I hope someone can help. Not easy to post but I will at the Classic Car show at the NEC and Essex over Christmas and will pass through many places between there and Scotland.

      Cheers

      Richard

Richard phone James Geddes at Traction Repairs 07783259874 – he has a car he is breaking and can also get drums skimmed, or if yours are in tolerance thickness wise you could maybe get them machined locally?

          Hi Richard,

Have you had any luck with finding replacement drums? If not we can help with the re-skimming if you’ve not already had James do the work.

A couple of other considerations though, if you are experiencing juddering this could be a result of the silent blocs on the front not being in a suitable condition. This would be worth investigating also as it might not be the brakes that are causing this issue…

Another item worth looking into would be an upgrade to the brake shoes to a ‘floating brake shoe arrangement’ these can increase the performance of the brakes significantly, if you’re interested I can send across more details, just let me know.

          Good luck with your repair!

          Robert ?
