I have had an oil leak on the car since I purchased it last year and over winter I managed to cure the sump gasket leak. The front crank seal would not stop leaking so a new one was purchased. On removal of the existing seal what I think is the trouble revealed itself. In the position of the seal on the crank the surface is quite pitted so presenting a rough surface to the seal, hence oil still leaks out although not quite as bad as it was.
Has anybody had the crank refaced using metal spraying or any other technique or is there any other way of curing the problem so I might get organised to have it done next winter
