If the workung unit won’t clean up to your satisfaction you could swap the dial and/or needle with one of the better looking ones.

I have been having trouble with my petrol guage, after going through the normal tests have decided it is the actual guage that is not working. Has anyone got a known working unit I could purchase, have tried the club spares scheme twice but got  no reply.

          Hi Philip,

Which model of gauge have you got? French or English? Square as above or

Have you measured the resistances of the two coils as suggested above?

It’s the square Jaegar one for ’50 Slough LT15

The main coil was burnt out , I have tried rewinding but no success.

I am afraid that I can’t help you there. I am sure that someone in the club will have one.

Maybe try the for sale and wanted, or John Gillard.

              Good luck.

              Roger
