I seem to be on a one man crusade to keep this forum active at present . Anyway onto the next topic. My old LHD girl has Marchal Equilux TP435 headlamps. Was told that they would have had new glass fitted when she was imported over here to comply with our rules for headlamps. Having read a fair bit about our headlamps ie for UK and the french ones I now doubt that. I do believe, please correct me if wrong, that french headlamps do not dip to the side they just dip down. She has passed a few MOTs over here so would appear to be okay on that front. So a few days ago I decided the reflectors looked a bit dull so removed both chrome surrounds and glasses. I assumed that the indent on the glass and on the reflector fitted into the notch in the chrome surround. All good until I tried to refit to the lamp body and noticed that the glasses were not vertical. This is, I discovered, caused by the headlamps themselves leaning into the centre. The nearside one by some 3 degs but the offside leans in by 12 degs. The wings are okay and undamaged. So after all this waffle what I would like to know is there any adjustment that one can make to level them out? Or do I remove at least the offside one and do a bit of fettling to attempt to straighten it up?
