Am currently getting my  radiator rev build by a local guy who does lots of historic car rads. Has just rung me to say that the drain plug at the bottom  will not shut off fully. Suggestion is he blanks it off totally. I cannot see any other option really unless someone knows better.

      Thanks

        Hi David

What about using something like a small brass quarter turn ball valve as fitted to model steam engines, I’m sure one could be adapter to fit

Sounds a good idea. Have rung up a few model makers to no avail. For one I do not know the diameter of the pipe to which it would need to be soldered onto.

And it seems, if a suitable valve was available, delivery is another factor. Many parts seem to be in very short supply.

So am going to go with blanking it off. At least by doing this I can at least get the radiator fitted and get out on the road, whilst we have the odd day of sunshine.

Just picked up the radiator and must say am very impressed by the quality of work done on it. Makes a change these days to find an outfit

who take pride in what they do. Wonderful just looking at the array of radiators they are working on. Old cars, buses, coaches etc they do the lot.

Hi David – would you like to share the details of the radiator place?

              Thanks

              Chris
