The history of Citroen 15 Cabriolet is a novel that is eaten with relish. Indeed, before war the Michelin family issues a special order to the Citroën factory : a 15/6 in convertible version. It seems that 3 or 4 bodies were then produced in 1939.
Unfortunately the war slowed the project and only one would be assembled that year, the other two being stored in the basement of the factory (well known vintage photos of Citroënistes) . After the war, in 1946, our model is assembled and begins its life with its first owner.
It should be noted that it is then equipped with a motor that turns right, the most advanced version of 6 cylinders. Then she continues her story arriving in the hands of its current owner, who was a Citroën dealer in the 60s, which will keep until today, almost 50 years !! It rolls regularly with and participates in numerous rallies and meetings (eg Paris-Nice 1969). Nevertheless we are able to confirm that our model is actually part of the authentic 3 out of Quai Javel because it is referenced in the books of the historian Citroën specialists, Olivier de Serre.

Il faut préciser qu’elle est alors équipée d’un moteur qui tourne à droite. Puis elle continue son histoire en arrivant entre les mains de son actuel propriétaire, alors concessionnaire Citroën, dans les années 60, qui va la conserver jusqu’à aujourd’hui, soit près de 50 ans !! Il roule régulièrement avec et participe à de nombreux rallyes et autres rencontres (par exemple Paris-Nice 1969). Il faut savoir que dès le début des années 50, certains carrossiers se mettent à réaliser des copies, raison pour laquelle il existe plusieurs exemplaires sur nos routes. Néanmoins nous sommes en mesure de confirmer que notre exemplaire fait bien partie des 3 authentiques sortis du Quai Javel car il est également référencé dans les livres de l’historien spécialiste Citroën, Monsieur Olivier de Serre. Cette œuvre d’art chère à André Citroën est une automobile aussi rare que la Bugatti Atlantic de Ralph Lauren. L’opportunité d’acquérir un authentique cabriolet 15/6 s’offre enfin à vous, une fois à son volant vous comprendrez pourquoi l’ancien propriétaire l’a conservé pendant 50 ans !
