Can anyone tell me when Citroen progressed from a single pork pie light to two independent rear lights mounted on the wings? Is there a special type of light or do we just use the standard “Morris Minor” light?

        Hi Paul,

Are you talking about a French or Slough built car? (11 or 15)

I think that Slough vehicles changed from lights mounted on the square number plate to wing mounted lights when the change was made to the big boot – 1952.

According to Lucas data, the ST38 (round) was fitted from 1946 to 1952. The rectangular 471 was fitted from 53 -54 on export (USA) cars. Although the list does not seem to say so, as far as I know the 471 was fitted to all UK big boot models.

There has been some debate about the tail lights. Some prefer the originality of the 471, some, like myself, fitted either bigger or extra lights to try to ensure visibility to Audi drivers.

Hi Roger.  Yes sorry it is a Slough built Lt15.

It seems as thought the 471 you mentioned is your standard ‘Morris Minor’ whereas the L549 is the one listed in TOC spares catalogue. I guess either is acceptable unless it was specified. Unfortunately there is a distinct lack of technical information on Slough built cars. I cannot understand why they never produced a workshop manual for these cars.

          Thanks for the advice.

          Best regards

          Paul

            Hi Paul,

Yes that is the Morris Minor (and others) light.

There is a workshop manual in the technical library for models 1938-50. Most of the information is still applicable up to the end of production except that the 11D engine is not covered.
