From Jonathan Smales:
As a member of the Citroen Car Club (I own a 1974 DS23 Pallas) I am writing to you all to ask a bit of a favour. I am the headteacher of Barnsole Primary School, which is located in Gillingham, Medway. My school is celebrating its 125th anniversary as it first opened back in 1899.
In the week beginning Monday 19th May we are undertaking a special week of celebrations and activities where the children are looking at the school (and Gillingham) through the decades. On Monday 19th May we have the Deputy Mayor of Medway visiting the school in the afternoon. We are also having a ‘street party’ style afternoon tea out on the playground with both the children and parents.
We are looking at having a small display of different cars representing as many of the different decades as possible. These will be showcased on the playground for the children, parents and Mayor to see. At the moment, we have the following vehicles (with their owners) attending:
* 1960s Austin Cambridge
* 1970s Citroen DS23 (my car!)
* 1980s Citroen 2CV
* 1990s Aston Martin
The reason I have emailed you all is to ask if there are any owners of a Citroen Traction Avant (1950s or earlier), 1980s Citroen CX, a Citroen C6 or a Citroen Xantia who might be able to bring their car to our celebration on the Monday. The event will start at approximately 1:30pm and finish at around 3:30pm.
Any help you could offer in regards to owners would be gratefully appreciated.
Regards,
Jonathan
