I am looking for two Slough wheels for my 1950 15 please, also two hub caps, I shall have two Paris wheels to sell or swap,w.h.y.?
Hi Jack
I have a 1949 Light 15 with French wheels. What do the correct Slough wheels look like?
Cheers Richard

these are whats on my 1951 Slough Light 15
Nigel
Thanks Nigel, so not dissimilar to the French wheels but easier to balance without the central strap. I suppose I could remove the strap and drill the wheels to fit nipples to retain the hub caps but too many projects at the moment. I did wonder if they were the traditional “easy clean” wheels I have seen on some prewar Citroens.
Cheers Richard
Whoa.
Richard, nothing Citroën is ever that simple. Add Slough into the equation and the complications are further increased.
The rims are very different under the hubcaps. Slough rims have a flat area where they contact the drum, unlike the French deep profile. As a result they require a different hubnut with a tapered shoulder instead of the captured washer that sits in the valley. Fortunately, suitable nuts are readily avaiable.

In addition, there are three lugs pressed into the Slough rim to retain the hubcap. If you remove the central bar from a French rim you will have no facility for attaching either French or Slough hubcaps!!

Thank you for the information Bernie, I had not realised the wheels were so different. I wonder if the rims are are French being metric and the centres made at Slough, its a puzzle. Adding hub cap nipples should not be too difficult, just accurate measuring and make it possible to balance the wheels. I have converted Land Rover wheels into Austin Gipsy wheels by adding hub cap nipples.
Cheers Richard
Slough wheels, if I remember correctly, as fitted to 1949 – 1951 cars.
Hi Richard,
Slough 6’s have french wheels with slough hubcaps that are bolted on, just an idea if you can get Big 6 hub caps!
