I have the round instruments on my Slough L15. The faces of the speedo and instruments are screen printed(?) onto perspex which sits behind the glass and in front of the black backing plate.
Both of my pieces of perspex have become brittle with time and have yellowed and cracked. I am planning to try to find someone who can screen print onto polycarbonate sheet using my old pieces as samples. Has anyone else had the same problem and found a solution? If I get this done, would anyone else be interested?
Roger
HI
Most things are printable these days with modern laser/inkjet technology. If you look online there are quite a few companies who will print signs, for example, onto various kinds of clear acrylic sheet. I suppose the key issue would be whether the lettering on your original was clear enough to be scanned and how much work was needed to clean the resultant file up on something like Photoshop, prior to printing.
Try your local sign manufacturers, the sort of people who do small scale stuff for companies, they may be able to help.
Hi
If you google etc “classic car gauges restoration uk” there are plenty of specialists.
Check with TOC spares, Chris had some replacements made. Do not know if he still has some in stock, but worth checking
Thanks for all the suggestions, I will ask Chris if he has any and pursue the other routes.

Thanks yet again Chris,
I have ordered from the spares scheme via Chris T. and am awaiting delivery.

Just got my speedo back from Nisonger Instruments in New York after a full overhaul.
Ordered the replacement decal from the ever helpful Chris T. £27.60 (ouch!) later it arrived in the mail with comprehensive instructions.
Two things if I may comment on the product and instructions:
Some folks like me are careful to follow instructions to the letter, as we know that we will get only one shot at it. Point number 3 tells you to remove the thin protective layer. Not so, the letters are supposed to come away WITH the thin layer, as the adhesive side FACES the thick layer! So dare I suggest, the instructions need a small re write as this is misleading.
As you can see from the attached image, some letters came away with the thin layer and some remained on the thick layer, making it virtually unusable. Are the transfers very old? Has anyone else had a problem, or am I alone?
I’ll see if I can attach a bad image.
