I have just received a new timing chain and pinion set. The alignment dot on the small pinion matches the original but the large pinion alignment dot is out by one full tooth. (the original is out of a 51 Big 6) I count 8 on the original and 7 on the new! What is a bloke to do? See attached photo. Has anybody come across this “quality issue” before?
While on the subject of the quality of spare parts from suppliers is it possible to have list compiled by forum members of parts that they have found to be defective or sub standard so that other members can be wary of.
