      Hi,

I am looking to add better wing mirrors to my 11BL and I wonder if anyone send me in the right direction:  A year or so ago, a club member was offering supplies of screw-on (to the doors), or clip on mirrors – Were they £30 or £50 a pair?  The supply of which naturally ran out when all were sold.  He mentioned that he would need a considerable number of orders to restart.  Can anyone recall this contact, or any other that is known about?

      My thanks

      Mike Westman.  FP 2170.

If you buy the brackets for the door handles from Renel https://www.renelauto.fr/retroviseurs-interieur-exterieur/384-support-retroviseur-sur-poignee-de-porte-le-jeu-de-2.html (or elsewhere) you can then source the mirrors from the UK aka  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RYDE-8MM-10MM-CHROME-UNIVERSAL-SCOOTER-MOTORCYCLE-MIRRORS-BIKE-MOTORBIKE-PAIR/220962357317 and the total cost is far less than buying the complete units 🙂

                    Amusing anecdote on mirrors.

I was driving yesterday and every time I thought of overtaking someone (yes, you can overtake people in a Traction), I looked in my small round mirror mounted on the door handle and there was this black car just poking its nose out behind me, looking like it was thinking of pulling out.

Check in the inside rear view and can’t see it but you can’t see everything in that mirror anyway.

Surely he couldn’t always be lurking behind me!

Then the penny dropped – I was seeing my door hinges.

                    Roger

On my 49 BL I have the door handle mount. I found a mirror in a motorcycle shop that would work. First time driving the car it took some getting used to because it’s a magnifying mirror. I really don’t like it but there it is.
