      So I finally got my seized rear wheel off.

      Unfortunately the right brake shoe adjusting cam is seized and the nut badly  rounded (presumably due to a previous effort to unseize it).

      Has anyone else had this happen to them? If so, what did you to free it? Is there a way to remove / replace it? I’ve tried penetrating oil and freeze/release spray with no luck.

      ideally I’d replace the cam and nut. I see the cam available in spares catalogs but not the bolt. Is there somewhere I could get one made up?

        Hi Mark

        I’ve used PlusGas to free mine off in the past, but yours may be too far gone. My next move would be heat – and then freezer spray. As for replacements, not sure what the specialists are offering but I just posted a long list of secondhand parts that Andy Burnett is hoping to shift. He includes brake parts in the list.

          I had to remove the back plate to apply heat, eventually moved. However the movement after was still very stiff, lubricating the part not very satisfactory. If there is a second hand part with free movement I’d swap it.

            Thanks for feedback. I’ll take off the back plate to attack it properly with heat. A replacement back plate would be ideal if I can find one. I’ll checkout Andy’s list of parts.
