I have just checked my cylinder head as I had read in FP TOC tech 41 about the placement of the valve seal. The company I sent the head to for the valve seats to be replaced, installed the valves and the springs but didn’t bother with the seals.

So in the TOC tech article it says to place the seal above the collet. As I have never seen them fitted where abouts do they go?

From the diagram the seal is 456998 and it looks to go above the collet where the conical halves fit.

The seal goes under the collet. Insert the valve in the guide, install the seal, then the springs and collet.

Thanks, I went onto do it anyway. I was a bit annoyed that the company I gave the head to did not do it or didn’t even tell me that they hadn’t.

Never mind, thanks to reading the TOC tech notes, I managed to figure it out before it was too late.
