Took the old girl out today as for a change nice and sunny, and more importantly dry.

All looks good except for a couple of minor issues.

One I can live with is the mind of its own fuel guage, been like it for ages I must get

around to removing the sender and having a poke around.

Other one involves the signal turn switch. Both offside and nearside work and both self cancel

after 20 odd flashes. But therein lies the problem the flash rate is rubbish, moreso on the

nearside than offside can be 6 seconds between flashes, not very good for other road users.

Now I say can be 6 seconds but might be 2 for a few flashes then back at 6 secs.

I supppose I need to have the switch out again as I did last year when the nearside packed up.

I know exact replacement switches are somewhat rare so might be soldering iron time again.

Little did I know when I replaced the switch last year that this one is nothing like the one I took out.

This is the one, like has been described as internals of a clock, with cogs all over the place.

Anyway plenty of contact spray and now nicely ticking away at the correct rate. As a belt and braces approach put it in an ultrasonic bath in case was some junk in there I could not see. Another spray with cleaner and is working a treat.

Was somewhat surprised to fine one of the cogs is plastic as all the other bits seem to be brass or copper.
