Please may I have a bit of advice on a couple of questions –

I know that it’s inadvisable to jack up the front end by putting the jack under the front cradle – what safe method should I use to get both front wheels off the ground at the same time ?

What are the correct size grease fittings (nipples) and what thread are they ?

I use a shaped wooden spacer that supports the width of the cradle to spread the load.  It needs a slot along it’s length to accommodate the central seam of the cradle.

Once the front is high enough, lower the car onto axle stands close to the jacking points otherwise the geometry can cause the shafts to foul if the suspension is just left “hanging”.

          Re the driveshaft nipples….

The spares book lists several “modern” type nipples, 4730-S, 4732-S, 4635-S and 4737-S and one Tecalemit, ref 117289.

          The swivel mentions 4730-S.

Unfortunately the book does not give any thread detail.

I can only suggest you remove one and measure it.
