One of the car clubs here has just held its “Monte Carlo” Rally , an event that occurs only every three years or so. I only just managed to get an engine rebuilt and back in two or three days beforehand, so was a tad nervous, but we made it to our starting point and back again without any major dramas. The idea is to achieve a certain number of points by going via various landmarks from midnight to arrive at three o’clock the next afternoon at the finish . We did over 1000 miles and some of it at night over a shingle road pass with some pretty steep drops (which helps keep you awake!) – daytime photo attached. A great adventure all round!
What a great trip! Well done, Andrew and thanks for sharing. Would you do it again? This would be a great story for F-P. Don’t forget to explain the furry bonnet insulation. And those driving lights – they’re very impressive.
