Hi
I have a “spare” starter motor and am trying to get confirmation that it is for a Slough model and an approximate value in order to sell it. Mine is the green one on the left and fits an 11BL. The mysterious one on the right is smaller (diameter 10.7cm, length approx 30.5cm). Plenty of markings….LEYS….A538…D…12…50.
Thanks for your comments.

Markings suggest it is 12V. 12V units are smaller diameter than 6V.

Does it have the recess in the bendix housing to accept the fixing bolt?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>If bendi. Housing diameter and postion of holf match up with your 6V unit and Bendix teeth are also same, suggest initial bench test to see if 6V or 12V.

Assuming all matches and it runs on appropriate Voltage, try it in an engine.

Even if it fits and works, value will still depend on condition of brushes, commutator, etc.

This doesn’t really answer the question but it might help – http://www.classicvehicledata.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/lucasstarters46to60.pdf
