Hi, my recently purchased 1950 L15 Slough has the steering wheel with the horizontal spoke vertical, the previous owner who had it since 1998 says it was like that when he bought it and when he asked if it could be set horizontally he was told in was not possible to change it. There is no free play in the steering, action is smooth no problem getting full lock, doesn’t pull to one side . I can find nothing wrong with it . As the steering wheel is located with a key way on the shaft there is no option to change it’s position. I can only assume that at sometime the rack was rebuilt without considering the position of the key war for the steering wheel ( is this possible ) . How difficult will it be to chang the orientation of the shaft, or can I get a steering wheel with optional positions to fit on the shaft .
