Rupert Davies’ 15/6H – where i it now?

Does anyone know who now owns the 15/6H that featured in the 1960s Maigret series and was then owned by actor Rupert Davies? I know it was sold in a fairly scruffy state some years ago.

This car was a rental car which the film company hired for the duration of the filming of the series (from Hertz, I believe).  That was also the time the first Ds were coming in to use and hire companies were phasing out the Traction so Rupert Davies bought the car from the rental people.

It was imported to the UK and given the registration 143 GXU.

I met Rupert Davies in the 70s when I was working at the Theatre in Windsor and he was in their production of “A Voyage around my Father”.  He told me  he still loved the car but it was currently in need of work on the brakes.

Some time later, it passed to his son, Timothy,  but I know of no recent “sightings”.

A bit more history here http://classiccarsforsale.squarespace.com/blog/news/maigret-actors-citroen-traction-avant-for-sale , but undated. so not clear when the sale was. Coincidently there is a Maisey in the Club although probably not relevant. Surely somebody will know where the car is now?

Interesting, I never heard of a “Light 15/6H” before. OK, a mistake on the part of the copywriters, but was it truly a hydraulic or is that a mistake also?

I  can’t believe you don’t know the Light 15/6H.  I suppose the drawback of living in the colonies is that news of special models takes so much longer to get there.

I can also confirm it was/is hydraulic.

Makes you think, doesn’t it?
I wrote about doing something like that in F-P. And I then got offered a shell to do it with! Being a little short of space and a lot short of time I had to decline. For the time being, anyway. It’s the sort of thing that you can’t start until you can see the finish.

Talking of which, I had made contact with the owner of the Rupert Davies car. It is still owned by Jamie Maisey who apparently did not sell it. It is “currently dismantled”.

More when I know it.
